ISO 10373-6 PICC Analog & Digital Test Specifications

Based on the MP300 TCL2, the PICC analog and digital test suites edited by Micropross include each and every test cases defined inside the ISO/IEC 10373-6 v2010 specifications, and allows to verify the digital interoperability between cards and readers.

The ISO 10373-6 v2010 document defines test methods to check that a contactless device is compatible with the ISO 14443-1, -2 and -3 specifications.

It defines both analog and digital tests. Analog tests are checking the quality of the signal coming from the device under test, whereas digital tests take care of the content of the frames.

One of the true assets of this solution, is the particular effort that has been put into the convenience of use. The test flow is totally automated, this is the guarantee of higher productivity, and no errors during the test process.

Our implementation of the ISO 10373-6 PICC analog test cases features :

  • alternating magnetic field
  • PICC transmission (a k a load modulation measurement)
  • PICC type A (test conditions for 106, 212, 424 and 848 kbps)
  • PICC maximum loading effect
  • PICC polling

For all test cases, types A and B modulations are supported. Same, tests are performed at all baudrates defined inside the ISO 10373-6 specs.

ISO 10373-6 PCD Analog & Digital Test Specifications

Based on the MP300 TCL2, sets of test cases to check the analog and digital interoperability of contactless readers (PCD). Those sets of test cases are based on the ISO 10373-6 v2010 document.

The ISO 10373-6 describes both analog and digital tests for compliance checking of readers (PCD). If a reader successfully passes those tests, that means interoperability is guaranteed with smartcards and RFID tags that also comply with the ISO 10373-6 tests.

Our test cases are based on the 2010 version of the ISO 10373-6 document, which is your guarantee of checking the compliance of your reader with the latest version of the specifications. Our implementation of those test cases is total.

ISO 10373-6 PCD Analog test cases include :

  • alternating magnetic field
  • PCD field strength (a k a operating volume characterisation)
  • power transfer PCD to PICC
  • waveform and modulation index measurement

ISO 10373-6 PCD Digital test cases include :

  • anticollision tests
  • handling of ATS and RATS
  • handling of PPS
  • handling of polling loop
  • all ISO 14443-4 scenario (including chaining, wrong CRC, ...)

Whenever possible, tests are performed in an automated manner. A few parameters need to be input at the beginning of the test session, and the Micropross test cases will be carried out accordingly.

ISO 10373-7 VICC Analog & Digital Test Specifications

Based on the MP300 TCL2, the VICC analog and digital test suites edited by Micropross include each and every test cases defined inside the ISO/IEC 10373-7 specifications, and allows to verify the digital interoperability between RFID tags, smartcards supporting the ISO 15693 protocol and readers.

The ISO 10373-7 document defines test methods to check that a contactless device is compatible with the ISO 15693 specification.

It defines functionnal tests. Those functionnal tests are checking the quality of the signal coming from the device under test.
